Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh my

We went to the Hogle Zoo yesterday.
We had a lot of fun but you can't tell for sure by the pictures.
Leilani had her game face on the whole day.
Reason #1: She's getting four teeth in.  That's never a reason to make kids smile.
Reason #2: The park had moving, growling, water spitting dinosaurs all over.  They scared the bejeebees out of her.  So therefore everything else at the park must be scary too.
At least we went on a train ride and THAT she liked:)
Making the elephant noise

making some african safari music

she was shaking as we took this picture

my favorite

we finally convinced her that this does not move or make noises

Targhee's favorite

this was her face the entire time

we asked her to smile and this is what we got

Leilani's favorite:)

"Choo Choo!"

This is my husband... in a nut turtle shell.

I think that you should be informed that we did not see any lions...or bears...or zebras...or hippos...or aligators...oh my!

Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

It's perfect picnic weather right now.
This was about the only time Leilani sat on the blanket.
She ran circles around us the rest of the time.
Thus is the energy of a toddler.

First time she went down the slide on her bum
all by herself.
So brave.
She did it about 150 times after this.

Slide races.

Playing "peek-E-boo" is still a favorite passtime.
Actually she would stick her little finger out and shock our noses.
Love being able to spend time as a fam:)
p.s. I couldn't help but hum the teddy bear picnic song as we layed out our blanket.
If you decide to ever learn anything from me...it will probably be that there is a song for everything!

An achievement to be proud of

I am going to take a minute to brag for my husband (because he would never do it for himself).
Since we have been married Targhee has worked full time and gone to school full time.
A feat I never did or desired to attempt.
He has even done this during summer semesters.
The last year and a half he has done it while also being a full time Dad.
Not only has he been successful in all three of those obligations throughout the years, he did it this last semester and received a 4.0!!!
A feat he says he has NEVER done.
Way to go Babe!
As if that isn't enough to be proud of he also completed his Associates Degree.
So as of right now we are on equal ground as far as schooling degrees go...(at least until December:)
I am so proud of him and his diligence to complete his education.
One thing that I have always admired about my husband is his ability to prioritize and having this much on his plate has been no exception.  Family always comes first.  Neither me or Leilani have felt neglected because of his school or work.  I am grateful for his ability to know what the important things are in life.
So here's to a fabulous husband, father, and student!
And here's to enjoying our last two weeks of summer before it all begins again:)

Wishful Thinking

These days I'm wishing I had one of these
So that we could do this

Every day:)
I love summer!
